Women on the Water: June 19th!!
(Newport, RI) On Saturday, March 27th Confident
Captain/Ocean Pros successfully hosted their first “Women on the Water” workshop. Geared specifically towards
female boaters, “Women on the Water” provides fun and educational instruction
for women in a stress-free and exciting environment.
Due to an overwhelming response from the first workshop, Confident Captain/Ocean Pros will be offering the course again on Saturday June 19th!
Ashley Crouch, a 27-year-old officer in the United States Coast Guard, leads the workshop. Ashley graduated in 2006 from the Coast Guard Academy and lived in Newport from 2006-2008 while stationed aboard one of Newport’s three Coast Guard buoy-tenders. Throughout the day she guides the women through the basics of recreational boating including general navigation, docking, anchoring, and emergency procedures! An attendee commented, “facilities were excellent, accommodations were great, and material was very informative. Thank you for keeping the course material “101” so novice boaters like myself felt comfortable.”
